Art Therapy

Vita believes that people with disabilities have a right to a variety of different treatment options. As such, we provide art therapy for individuals who need to deal with issues of grief and loss, anger and frustration, and/or trauma and it’s after-effects. Art Therapy is therapy that uses simple art materials such as tempera paint, oil pastels, chalk pastels, markers, and clay to work through important or difficult issues in an individual’s life and help move towards the member’s goals. It helps individuals become self-aware and deal with emotional and psychological issues. The art therapist facilitates the client’s non-verbal and verbal expression and understanding of the thematic patterns emerging through the art.
